Houston Dynamo midfielder Jack McGlynn nears transfer to Stoke City

Houston Dynamo midfielder Jack McGlynn is reportedly set to join English Championship club Stoke City in a transfer valued at up to $5.5 million. The 23-year-old, who arrived in Houston in February 2025 via a trade with Philadelphia, has recorded two goals and six assists during the 2026 campaign. His departure follows recent exits by teammates Ondřej Lingr and Ezequiel Ponce as the team manages roster changes before the transfer window closes this Wednesday. McGlynn previously earned 13 caps for the U.S. men's national team and participated in the 2024 Summer Olympics, though he has not appeared for the squad since a season-ending foot injury last September. The Dynamo currently hold second place in the Western Conference standings with 39 points. Houston played to a 0-0 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday.
