Houston Fan Festival closes due to flood warnings ahead of World Cup event

Summary

The Fan Festival in Houston closed on June 15 as flood warnings were issued through June 17. This decision was made by local organizers to ensure the safety of fans and volunteers ahead of the World Cup Group K game featuring Portugal and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The festival had already reached full capacity on its opening days, and its closure is a precautionary measure due to expected heavy rain. The Houston Stadium, where games will continue, is equipped with a roof, minimizing weather disruptions to the matches.
