Houston Texans place Tank Dell on injured reserve to start season

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell will miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season due to a lingering knee injury. General manager Nick Caserio confirmed on September 1 that the fourth-year player is not yet ready for competitive action following the injury sustained during the 2024 campaign. While the team previously considered Dell close to playing during the preseason, further evaluation necessitated placing him on the injured reserve list. Caserio indicated that the recovery process includes both physical milestones and mental confidence hurdles before Dell can return to full team practices. The team expects to evaluate his status in October once he begins the 21-day practice window allowed for players designated to return.
