Houston Texans sign former Cincinnati Bearcats center Gavin Gerhardt

The Houston Texans signed center Gavin Gerhardt to their practice squad on September 8, 2026. Gerhardt entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft selection by the Minnesota Vikings, taken 235th overall earlier this year. During the final roster cut process in August, the Vikings waived the former Cincinnati Bearcats player. He spent a brief period on the Minnesota practice squad before being waived again by the team the following day. A three-year team captain at the University of Cincinnati, Gerhardt earned Honorable Mention Big 12 honors during his final collegiate season. He now joins the Houston organization as he continues his professional career.
