Hull City makes €35m verbal offer for Lyon winger Malick Fofana

Hull City FC has submitted a €35 million verbal bid for Lyon winger Malick Fofana, as reported on August 28, 2026. Fofana, a 21-year-old Belgium international, previously indicated willingness to remain with Lyon contingent on Champions League qualification, which the club failed to achieve. The financial struggles of Lyon, following elimination from the play-offs against Fenerbahçe, have led to potential departures of key players. Hull City has engaged with Fofana via video call to discuss their project, amid interest from Serie A's AS Roma, which has secured personal terms with the player, as well as other unnamed clubs still in contention.
