Humberside Police restrict drone flights for Tour of Britain race

Humberside Police has prohibited unauthorized drone flights over East Yorkshire during the third stage of the Tour of Britain cycle race. A Notice to Airmen order mandates that operators obtain police permission to fly within an altitude of 2,700 feet between 08:45 and 15:45 BST on Friday. This restriction covers the route from Hull to Beverley as competitors pass through towns including Withernsea, Hornsea, and Skipsea. The measure aims to ensure safety for the public and official aircraft, including police drones and media helicopters. The event, which spans 565 miles and began in Lincoln on Wednesday, requires rolling road closures for 30 to 40 minutes as the peloton moves through the region. Following the East Yorkshire stage, the race continues into the Yorkshire Dales before concluding in Scotland on Sunday 6 September.
