The Carolina Hurricanes signed defenseman Juuso Valimaki to a one-year contract worth $900,000 for the 2026-27 season. Valimaki, 27, has NHL experience from prior stints with Calgary, Arizona, and Utah, totaling 72 points in 271 career games. He was acquired by the Hurricanes earlier this year. Last season, he registered 23 points in 27 AHL games with Tucson and Chicago, helping lead Chicago to the Calder Cup Final.
