Ian Kelley receives Dougie Award for autism golf leadership

Tallahassee resident Ian Kelley received the Dougie Award from the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation's Stars Golf Tour on August 19, 2026. The ceremony took place at Harvest Hill Golf Course in Orchard Park, New York, following a two-day tournament. Kelley, a 30-year-old First Tee-Tallahassee life skills specialist diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome as a teenager, was recognized for his advocacy and mentorship within the autism golf community. The Stars Golf Tour, established in 2023, provides a national competitive platform for autistic golfers with USGA handicaps. Kelley, who previously earned a Special Olympics gold medal, currently works with children and adults with special needs to introduce them to golf. He dedicated the award to the supporters who guided his career.
