The IIHF has confirmed that Russia and Belarus will not participate in the men's ice hockey world championships scheduled for May 13-30, 2027, in Germany. The decision follows ongoing safety, security, and sporting integrity concerns due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. IIHF stated it would announce later whether Russia will partake in the next women's worlds. Belarus is excluded from the men's and junior worlds but may still compete in other events.

"Russia and Belarus will remain excluded from the next men's ice hockey world champions in 2027 in Germany, the ruling body IIHF has said. A statement late Thursday its council decided that Russia will not be allowed to take part in several of its events including the men's worlds "due to ongoing safety, security and sporting integrity concerns.
