Illinois extends athletics apparel partnership with Nike through 2033

The University of Illinois has finalized an extension of its contract with Nike, ensuring the brand remains the exclusive provider of apparel, footwear, and equipment for the school's 21 varsity programs. The agreement stretches the partnership, which originally began in 1995, through the year 2033. Director of Athletics Josh Whitman confirmed the deal, noting that the arrangement covers approximately 450 student-athletes across all university sports. This extension follows a long history of collaboration, including a 2014 visual identity overhaul that updated the university's logos and uniform designs. The previous 10-year contract, signed in 2016, was valued at roughly $44.5 million and remains in effect until the conclusion of the 2025-26 academic year.
