Illinois students buy out basketball season tickets in nine minutes

Student season tickets for the Illinois men's basketball team for the 2026-27 season sold out in just nine minutes, setting a new record. This marks the sixth consecutive season of sold-out student tickets, with last year's selling out in 18 minutes and the previous year in 26 minutes. The rapid sale follows a historic season where Illinois reached the Final Four for the first time since 2005. Illinois will begin its new season at home against Fairleigh Dickinson on November 2.
