Illinois unveils college football's largest scoreboard at Gies Memorial Stadium

Illinois has installed what is reported to be the largest main display board in college football at Gies Memorial Stadium. The new scoreboard, measuring 69 feet high and 250 feet wide, covers over 17,000 square feet, surpassing the previous largest boards in the nation. The installation replaces a scoreboard added prior to the 2013 season. Officials anticipate that the prominent display will enhance the game-day experience and draw significant attention from national TV broadcasts. The first event on the scoreboard will be a movie night scheduled for August 8, featuring "Air Bud."
