Goaltender Ilya Samsonov has signed a two-way contract with the San Jose Sharks ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season. The 29-year-old returns to North America after spending the 2025-26 season in Russia with HC Sochi, where he appeared in 14 games. A former first-round draft pick, Samsonov previously played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, and Vegas Golden Knights. In San Jose, he enters a crowded depth chart that includes Yaroslav Askorov, Alex Nedeljkovic, and Eric Comrie.
