IMSA Michelin GT Challenge race to feature GTD Pro and GTD classes at VIR

The IMSA Michelin GT Challenge takes place at Virginia International Raceway on Sunday, August 23. The event will highlight the GTD Pro and GTD categories in a two-hour, 40-minute race with coverage starting at noon ET on NBC and Peacock. With prototypes absent, the championship races are tight, particularly in GTD Pro where the top four drivers are only separated by 45 points. Tommy Milner, a key contender, emphasized the competitive nature of GT racing at VIR, stating it allows for close battles without the influence of faster prototype vehicles. Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday at 4:50 p.m. ET.
