IMSA sees potential grid changes as teams prepare for 2027

The IMSA grid is expected to lose familiar teams like Meyer Shank Racing, Pfaff Motorsports, and DragonSpeed for the 2027 season, largely due to manufacturer shifts. Despite these departures, IMSA President John Doonan reported that around 80 cars have shown interest in competing in the 2027 Rolex 24 at Daytona, which only has space for 61. The approval process for entry is still ongoing, with the final field not revealed until December. New entries include a confirmed Aston Martin program from Car Blanche and a returning Mercedes-AMG GT3 from Winward Racing.
