India and Pakistan prepare for Asian Games cricket final in Japan

India and Pakistan will face off in the Asian Games cricket final on Saturday in Japan, following victories in the semi-finals. Pakistan advanced by defeating Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-shortened match, while India secured a dominant 124-run win over Sri Lanka, bowling them out for just 45 runs. The match is set against a backdrop of ongoing political tensions, as previous encounters have seen players abstaining from traditional gestures of sportsmanship, such as handshakes. Both teams have a history of competitive clashes, with India having recently triumphed over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final. The final promises to reignite this historic rivalry under strained circumstances.
