India women decline to accept Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi

India secured a 72-run victory over Sri Lanka in the Women's Asia Cup final held in Dubai on Sunday. Following the conclusion of the match, the post-match trophy presentation was cut short after ACC president Mohsin Naqvi presented the runner-up cheque to the Sri Lanka team. Harmanpreet Kaur and the India squad declined to accept the championship trophy from Naqvi during the ceremony. The event echoed a similar incident from the 2025 men's Asia Cup final when the Indian team also refused the trophy from the PCB chairman. Naqvi reportedly exited the Dubai stadium shortly after the presentation concluded without the silverware. It remains unconfirmed if the trophy was eventually transferred to the Indian team off the stage.
