Indiana State track athletes compete in national championships this month

Indiana State Sycamore track and field athletes are set to compete in several significant events this month, including the 2026 USA Track and Field Under-20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, which started Thursday and continues Friday. Weight throwers Ben Brown and Theo Thurmond are taking part in the U20 competition, while hurdler Kieran Barnewall is entered in the Canada Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Ottawa. Rachel Mehringer, a recent top finisher at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, will represent ISU at the USATF Outdoor Championships next month in New York City. Opportunities for athletes to qualify for the World Athletics U20 Championships in August are also on the line at these events. Last month, all three U20 competitors scored significant points at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.
