Indianapolis Colts release defensive tackle Colby Wooden during final roster cuts

The Indianapolis Colts are releasing defensive tackle Colby Wooden as the team nears final roster cutdowns. The move comes months after Indianapolis acquired Wooden from the Green Bay Packers in a March trade involving linebacker Zaire Franklin. During his time with the Colts, Wooden participated in 72 snaps across three preseason games. Wooden, a 2023 fourth-round draft pick, previously started 16 games for the Green Bay Packers during the 2025 season where he logged 50 tackles and three quarterback hits. He will now enter the open market as a free agent or be subject to waiver claims. The Packers have since solidified their linebacker corps with Franklin, who serves as a team captain.
