Indie wrestler claims promotion displayed fake topless photo with her likeness

Independent wrestling star Diana Strong accused Rings of Europe (RoE), a promotion based in Austria, of displaying a large image of a topless woman with her face photoshopped onto it without her consent. Writing on Instagram Stories, Strong claimed “Dirty Diana” was written on the picture, and she added that the image was shown to people backstage before being left in the men’s locker room. According to Strong, she first learned of the alleged photoshopped image when she arrived at a venue for a RoE event. She said the explanation she was given for the picture was it was created for a “storyline reason,” but said she had “never heard anything about” it and “never agreed” to any such picture of her likeness being used. The alleged incident involving Strong follows another accusation made against RoE by a female wrestler. Over the weekend, English wrestler Violet Nyte shared on Instagram that RoE attempted to shame her for pulling out of an event for what she said was an illness. She shared an image that she said the promotion posted on social media calling on fans to cancel Nyte. The post accused Nyte of unprofessionalism and listed her real name. “I wasn’t fit to wrestle the weekend. I was extremely clear and apologetic with the promoter trying to help find replacements for me, and this is the response I get. Not only trying to defame my character but putting my real name out there,” Nyte wrote. “This behavior is coming from someone who was saying to me that I should act with ‘professionalism’. I want to put this out there as a warning to any wrestler or any other person looking to work for this promotion in the future.” View this post on Instagram On Saturday, RoE canceled a scheduled show, stating on Facebook that “the majority of the wrestlers decided not to perform.” It’s unclear if the cancelation was related to the allegations made against the company. Strong referenced the Nyte situation in her post about the alleged fake image. “After hearing about @violetnytepw situation I wasn’t very excited to come to RoE today,” Strong wrote. “I have decided to do it, because I was the champion and nothing bad have happened to me there. Until today.” After the owner of Rings of Europe leaked Violet Nyte's real name and shaming her and numerous other female wrestlers, @Diana_wrestling published this. Then they have proudly shown it to every person backstage before leaving it in men’s locker room. “The only explanation I heard was ‘it was made for a storyline reason.’ I have never heard anything about.
