IndyStar opens voting for volleyball players of the week

The IndyStar is accepting votes for the volleyball players of the week through Friday at noon. The poll covers performances recorded between August 31 and September 5. Nominations feature 15 athletes, including Karis Barnes from Lawrence Central and Westfield's Audrey Davis. Other notable performers recognized for their statistics include London Evans of Carmel, who recorded 333 assists this season, and La Porte’s Lauren Kirk, who tallied 19 blocks in three matches. The weekly honor follows the selection of Hamilton Heights’ Reese Blanton as the previous player of the week.
