Ines Bettencourt seeks fifth year of eligibility in NCAA lawsuit

Gonzaga Bulldogs guard Ines Bettencourt has filed for a fifth year of college eligibility in a California lawsuit targeting NCAA age-based eligibility rules. Bettencourt, who graduated in May 2026, played for Gonzaga from 2024 to 2026 after transferring from UConn, where she competed for her first two seasons. During her senior year, she averaged 6.3 points and contributed across multiple statistical categories. Gonzaga's roster currently has space for additions as they prepare for next season in the Pac-12 Conference, which could potentially include Bettencourt's return.
