Inter sporting director Dario Baccin held discussions with Arturo Canales regarding a contract extension for Federico Dimarco. The meeting took place at the Museo del Prado in Madrid before Inter’s Champions League match against Real Madrid, which resulted in a 2-1 defeat for the Italian side. Dimarco, who is currently in the final year of his existing contract, led Inter to a Serie A title last season after recording 18 assists. The club holds a unilateral option to extend his deal by one year but intends to secure a long-term agreement with the 28-year-old defender. Dimarco is currently sidelined with a left knee sprain and missed the Madrid fixture. He remains unavailable for Monday's upcoming match against Udinese as the team works toward his return for next Saturday's game against Roma.
