Inter targets Romano if Calhanoglu departs club next summer

Summary

Inter Milan is reportedly prioritizing Alessandro Romano as a potential signing if Hakan Calhanoglu leaves at the end of the 2026-27 season. Currently on loan at Cagliari from Roma, Romano has impressed during his early Serie A appearances, including a goalscoring debut. The 20-year-old recently switched his international allegiance to Italy and has begun attracting attention from multiple clubs across Europe. Calhanoglu's contract situation, along with potential interest from Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, may accelerate Inter's pursuit of Romano. Additionally, Inter might explore selling Aleksandar Stankovic, increasing the likelihood of a new midfield addition.
