International Skating Union denies Kamila Valieva individual neutral status

The International Skating Union confirmed on Thursday that Kamila Valieva will not be permitted to compete in international events as an Individual Neutral Athlete. This decision follows a second round of evaluation for the 2022 Olympian. Alongside Valieva, the governing body denied neutral status to three other Russian skaters: Mark Kondratiuk, Alexandra Stepanova, and Ivan Bukin. The International Skating Union did not provide specific reasons for the exclusion of any of the four athletes. The organization stated it will not comment further on these individual cases while appeal rights remain open.
