Iowa wide receiver Tony Diaz is on the 2026 Hispanic College Football Player of the Year Award watch list. Previously, he was recognized as an Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention and earned Southland Freshman of the Year honors. Diaz transferred to Iowa from UT Rio Grande Valley and had a standout season last year, ranking high in several FCS receiving categories. Iowa opens its season against Northern Illinois at Kinnick Stadium on Sept. 5, 2026.
