Iowa names Mike Elgin honorary captain for UNI game

Iowa football has named Mike Elgin as the honorary captain for their game against Northern Iowa on Saturday. Elgin, who played on the offensive line from 2004 to 2006 and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten player, will participate in the coin toss and meet with the team. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2007 and also played for the Indianapolis Colts during his NFL career. This season, he joins other honorary captains Sedrick Shaw and C.J. Beathard. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT at Kinnick Stadium, with live coverage on FS1.
