Iowa players show mixed results in NBA Summer League action

On Thursday, several former Iowa basketball players participated in NBA Summer League games in Las Vegas. Brendan Hausen, playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, did not score but his team secured a 96-64 victory over the Atlanta Hawks to reach the semifinals. In contrast, Payton Sandfort, Josh Dix, and Bennett Stirtz of the Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Dallas Mavericks, 97-87. Sandfort scored 12 points with five rebounds, while Dix contributed 11 points and two boards. Stirtz was inactive for this game but had led the Thunder in scoring in previous outings. The Grizzlies will continue their tournament on Saturday against the Houston Rockets, and the Thunder have a consolation game scheduled for Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets.
