Iowa's Cael Winter set to start at center for season opener

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz announced that walk-on Cael Winter would start at center if the Hawkeyes’ opener was today. Winter, a 6-foot-3, 294-pound lineman from Waukee Northwest, previously appeared in four games last season. The Hawkeyes’ offensive line is structured with Trevor Lauck at left tackle, Leighton Jones at left guard, Kade Pieper at right guard, and Jack Dotzler at right tackle. Iowa will face Northern Illinois in their season opener on Saturday, September 5 at 3:15 p.m. CT at Kinnick Stadium.
