Iowa's McKenna Woliczko named to Katrina McClain Award watch list

McKenna Woliczko of Iowa women's basketball is on the 2027 Katrina McClain Award preseason watch list. The award, presented by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, honors the top power forward in NCAA Division I women's basketball. Woliczko, a 6-foot-2 freshman from San Bruno, California, is among 20 players selected and one of three from the Big Ten. As a five-star recruit and the number 6 player in the 2026 class, she was recognized for her outstanding high school career, averaging 21.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Fan voting for the award begins today, and the list will be narrowed down in the coming months.
