Isaiah Iton and Eric Butler revert to Patriots injured reserve list

Defensive tackle Isaiah Iton and safety Eric Butler have been placed on the New England Patriots’ injured reserve. The two players reverted to the team's injured reserve list at 1 p.m. ET on Monday after clearing the NFL waiver wire unclaimed. Both players had been waived with injury designations prior to the team's 53-man roster deadline on Sunday. Iton rejoined the Patriots in July after previously spending time on the Tennessee Titans' practice squad. Butler, an undrafted free agent from San Diego State, signed with the team in early August after attending rookie minicamps with the Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints. Their placement on injured reserve effectively ends their participation for the 2026 season, unless the team reaches injury settlements at a later date.
