Ithaca, New Hartford, and Clinton secure victories in regional athletic competitions

Regional athletic programs recorded several outcomes during the past week, according to photographs and reporting by the Observer-Dispatch. In NCAA Division III women's soccer, the Ithaca Bombers recorded a 3-1 victory against the Utica Pioneers. Cora Kraft accounted for the lone goal for Utica with a 37-yard free kick. Elsewhere, the New Hartford varsity field hockey team won their home opener 2-1 over Baldwinsville. Grace Bannigan led the effort with two goals, reaching 100 career points as a Spartan. Additionally, the Clinton Comets secured a 2-1 victory over the Indian River Wolves in girls varsity soccer. First-half goals by Kiersten Majka and Devyn Roy provided the winning margin for Clinton. The results highlight recent performances across regional collegiate and high school soccer and field hockey programs.
