Iva Jovic earns career-high WTA ranking after Guadalajara Open victory

Iva Jovic won her second WTA title at the Guadalajara Open, defeating Peyton Stearns in the final. This victory allowed her to reclaim points lost from last year's title defense and climb to a career-high ranking of world number 13. At 18 years old, Jovic is now just 1,199 points shy of the top 10. Despite a solid performance at the US Open, where she reached the fourth round, Jovic fell to 16th in the rankings before her success in Guadalajara. She will take a week off before competing at the China Open beginning September 30.
