Izaiyah Nelson drafted by Washington Wizards, traded to Orlando Magic

Izaiyah Nelson was selected 51st overall by the Washington Wizards in the NBA draft held in Brooklyn, New York, on June 25. The standout forward from USF will continue his career in Florida as the Wizards traded him to the Orlando Magic shortly after his selection. Nelson distinguished himself during his college career, earning American Conference Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year honors in the same season. He is the ninth player from USF to be drafted and the third to be chosen in the top two rounds, tying for the third-highest pick in program history.
