Jack Strand debuts as Falcons quarterback, throws pick-6 in loss

In a challenging start for the Atlanta Falcons, rookie quarterback Jack Strand debuted during their Week 2 game against an undisclosed opponent. After receiving a standing ovation from fans, Strand's first pass was intercepted by linebacker Devin Lloyd, who returned it for a touchdown. The Falcons continued to struggle offensively, ultimately losing 34-3 and falling to 0-2 on the season. Cooper Rush, the previous starting quarterback, was replaced following two interceptions in Week 1. Strand, who previously played at Minnesota State-Moorhead, completed a few passes after the interception but was unable to change the outcome. Michael Penix Jr. may return for the scheduled Thursday Night Football game in a few days.
