Jack Whaley and Luke Poulter named in GB&I Walker Cup team

Jack Whaley, the recent US Amateur champion, has been selected for the Great Britain and Ireland team competing in the 2026 Walker Cup at Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland on September 5-6. The 22-year-old joins a 10-man squad that includes Ian Poulter's son, Luke. Captain Dean Robertson noted that Whaley's impressive performance at the US Amateur significantly influenced his inclusion in the team. This year marks a significant challenge for GB&I, as they seek to defeat the USA for the first time since 2015. The team features a mix of newcomers and returning players, with four making their Walker Cup debuts.
