Jackie Young leads the United States past Spain to the World Cup final

The United States defeated Spain 76-66 in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup semifinals held at Berlin’s Uber Arena. Entering the fourth quarter with a slim 60-58 lead, the Americans pulled away behind a 12-point performance from Jackie Young. Young checked into the game early in the final period and contributed to 10 points during an 18-8 closing run, including two late steals. The victory advances the United States to a gold medal matchup against France. If the United States wins the final on Sunday, Young would become the first player to win a high school state title, NCAA championship, WNBA title, Olympic 5-on-5 gold, Olympic 3-on-3 gold, and a World Cup title.
