Jackson MS reflects on its ice hockey team, the Bandits

The Jackson Bandits was an ECHL hockey team that played in Jackson, Mississippi, from 1999 to 2003. They held their home games at the Mississippi Coliseum but struggled to secure a new stadium during their tenure. The Bandits previously existed as the Chesapeake Icebreakers before relocating to Jackson. Currently, the Federal Prospects Hockey League has announced a new team, the Mid-South Monarchs, slated to start play in Southaven this season. Additionally, club teams like Ole Miss Ice Rebs and Mississippi State Ice Dogs continue to promote ice hockey in the state.
