Jackson State football head coach T.C. Taylor expects offensive growth during bye week

Jackson State football enters an off week with a 2-0 record after opening the season with a victory against Tennessee State and a win over Edward Waters. Head coach T.C. Taylor expressed confidence in the team's offensive depth following a 66-point performance that featured 704 total yards of offense. Taylor stated that if the team is capable of scoring 66 points, they possess the talent to reach 80. While the offense remains a primary focus, the staff is also working to reduce penalties, specifically unsportsmanlike conduct and false starts. The defense showed improvement in third-down efficiency between the first two games, allowing only four conversions against Edward Waters. The Tigers return to action on September 19 to host Tuskegee at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.
