Jackson State football players file lawsuit against NCAA for fifth-year eligibility

Four Jackson State football players, including Reid Pulliam, filed a lawsuit against the NCAA on August 24 in Hinds County Chancery Court. The lawsuit challenges the NCAA's new age-based eligibility model that affected their chances for a fifth year of eligibility, a right they argue was not afforded due to timing. The players were temporarily deemed eligible following an injunction on July 31, but this decision was overturned on August 21, impacting their status just days before JSU's season opener against Tennessee State on August 29. Coach T.C. Taylor expressed sympathy for the players whose eligibility was revoked.
