Jaden Lockhart receives TRO granting him eligibility for Game 1

Jackson State football wide receiver Jaden Lockhart has been granted a temporary restraining order, allowing him to play in the team's first game of the 2026 season against Tennessee State on August 29. Lockhart filed a lawsuit against the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility after claiming delays in his medical hardship waiver process. This TRO is valid for 10 days and follows a previous denial of his waiver by the NCAA. He had previously sustained a shoulder injury in his 2023 season and contended that he was denied opportunities to participate in college football because of administrative delays.
