Jaguars face decisions on potential surprise cuts before roster deadline

As the Jacksonville Jaguars prepare to finalize their 53-man roster, several players may be at risk of being cut. Linebacker Jalen McLeod, a sixth-round pick in 2025 who missed his rookie season due to injury, faces stiff competition in a crowded linebacker group. Offensive lineman Chuma Edoga's versatility is overshadowed by the return of Cole Van Lanen and the arrival of Daniel Faalele, both of whom may secure a roster spot ahead of him. Defensive end Zach Durfee is considered more likely to make the team than teammate Bryan Thomas Jr. after their differing performances in preseason. The Jaguars aim to complete their roster decisions soon prior to the upcoming regular season.
