Jaguars trade Hunter Long to Cardinals for two draft picks

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded tight end Hunter Long to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. In exchange, the Jaguars acquired a sixth-round and a seventh-round selection for the 2028 NFL Draft. The completion of the trade remains pending a physical examination for the player. This roster move arrives as Jacksonville works to trim its roster to 53 players ahead of the upcoming regular season. The team added depth at the tight end position earlier this year by selecting Nate Boerkircher in the second round and Tanner Koziol in the fifth round of the draft. These rookies have participated in training camp as the Jaguars prepare for their September 13 season opener. Hunter Long was originally selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.
