Jahmyr Gibbs eyes increased workload as primary running back for Lions

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs enters the 2026 season as the team's primary ball carrier following the trade of David Montgomery to the Houston Texans. Gibbs recorded 1,223 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns last season, adding 77 receptions for 616 yards and five additional scores. Head coach Dan Campbell indicated that the player’s snap share, which reached 67 percent last season, will increase further this year. Gibbs acknowledged his status as a top selection in many fantasy football drafts and suggested he is prepared to meet high performance expectations.
