Jake Elliot, a highly regarded 21-year-old utility from the Sydney Roosters, has signed a one-year deal with the North Queensland Cowboys, effective immediately. The Roosters confirmed his departure during their end-of-season awards night. Elliot, who had been part of the Roosters' junior system and played for their NSW Cup team, is expected to join the Cowboys' Top 30 squad ahead of their pre-season in November. Previously contracted until 2027, he reached a mutual agreement with the Roosters to make the switch early. This move provides Elliot an opportunity to pursue his NRL debut.
