Jake Maikkula injury update: Brent Venables expects short recovery for OL

Oklahoma offensive lineman Jake Maikkula is expected to recover quickly from an undisclosed injury, according to head coach Brent Venables. Maikkula sustained the injury during a scrimmage last weekend. In his absence, players Ryan Fodje, Caleb Nitta, and Noah Best are competing for his position. Best is noted for his potential as a true freshman, while Nitta has prior starting experience. Venables expressed confidence in the alternate players filling in, with quarterback John Mateer backing their preparedness and rapport.
