Jakub Vaněček was chosen 59th overall by the Dallas Stars during the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. The Tri-City Americans defenceman scored 14 goals and 35 points in 59 games this season. He was ranked 31st among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting and has committed to Western Michigan University for the 2027-28 season. Vaněček represented Czechia at the 2026 U18 Championships and was named to the 2026 World Junior team.
