James Flanigan scores first career touchdown for Notre Dame at Lambeau Field

Sophomore tight end James Flanigan scored his first collegiate touchdown during No. 4 Notre Dame's 41-13 victory over Wisconsin at Lambeau Field on September 7, 2026. The Green Bay, Wisconsin native caught a 3-yard pass from CJ Carr in the first quarter to put the Irish on the board. The score held personal significance as both his father and grandfather previously played for the Green Bay Packers at the same venue. Following the catch, Flanigan celebrated with a fist pump tribute to his father, a former Notre Dame and NFL defensive tackle. Flanigan played four games as a freshman without recording a reception but is expected to see an increased role in the offense throughout the current season.
