Japan asks late Asian Games entries to arrange own accommodations

Japanese organisers of the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya and Aichi have informed late additions to seek their own accommodations due to budget and space constraints. The organising committee expected about 15,000 participants, but the Olympic Council of Asia has now increased that figure to approximately 17,000. With no dedicated athletes' village, temporary lodging solutions include a cruise ship and container-style huts. Omura, the organising committee president, stated they cannot accommodate further entrants without additional budget or resources. Reports indicate an appeal has been made to the OCA to reduce participant numbers.
