Jared Thomas returns to Northwestern football as director of external relations

Former Northwestern football captain Jared Thomas has returned to the program as its new Director of External Relations and Alumni Engagement. The announcement on Monday precedes the team’s season opener this Saturday at 8 p.m. ET against South Dakota State. Thomas, an offensive lineman who played for the Wildcats from 2015 to 2019, earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors during his collegiate career. Head coach David Braun stated that Thomas will bridge generations of the program and assist in building its future foundation. The Wildcats are scheduled to host the Jackrabbits at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium before relocating to the new Ryan Field in October. Thomas joins a growing contingency of alumni currently working to elevate the program within the Big Ten.
